Archaea, Eukarya, Bacteria

Archaea

Eukarya

Bacteria

  • Single-celled organisms

  • No nucleus/organelles inside their body

  • Binary fission (asexual)

  • Extremophyles

  • 1977: became it's own domain, separate from prokaryotes due to DNA findings

  • Few thing's are known about the domain as it was only discovered failry recently

  • Look very similar to prokaryotic cells

  • Contain very similar functions to eukaryotic cells (biochemistry)

  • Single-celled organisms

  • Only some micrometers in length

  • Binary fission (asexual)

  • Cell wall ususally contains peptidoglycan

  • Lives in diverse environments

  • Cause for many diseases in humans but also help with health

  • Some are autotrophic, some are heterotrophic

  • Many are decomposers: basically recycle other dead organisms in oder to give nutrition to organisms such as plants

  • Single/multiple celled organisms

  • Membrane-bound structures: primarily nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts

  • More complex and larger organisms are eukaryotic

  • Has seven kingdoms

  • Meiois and/or mitosis

  • Unicellular, colonial or mutlicellular
